I know I haven't been on here in awhile and I do apologize. I've been working diligently on this second book. It has proved to be a little bit harder than the first one. I learned a lot with the first book and I want to make the sequel even better! And like with all sequels, there is that pressure of out doing the first. My goal was originally to have book two out by June, then I changed it to July. I'm starting to think I might have been a bit too ambitious. Over the past few months I've been feeling pressured and rushed. Then someone close to me told me, "Why are you rushing? This is your legacy isn't it? Don't rush it." They were absolutely right. Why rush something that is so important to me. So unfortunately I am going to have to delay the book by a few months. I know how this may disappoint some, but I want to release the best product possible for my fans and readers. But I can guarantee you the book will released in the fall of 2021. So for now all preorders will be canceled. Thank you for your support and as soon as I get a new release date I will inform you and put preorders back up.
Today is probably one of the biggest days in my life since the birth of my little hellion. Since middle school I have always wanted to be a writer. The fire was always there. It was in my blood. Now, after many, many years later I have finally achieved my dream. I would like to thank everyone who believed in me. I couldn't have done this without all your support. Thank you!!
Sooooo...I have some exciting and unexpected news today. With careful consideration, I have decided in order to build my brand and turn into the best product possible; I will be starting my own publishing company. Under the imprint 'Moon Child Publishing'. Named after the first book I started writing in grade school (still writing) Moon Child. Don't worry, this changes nothing with my upcoming releases, except for the Pas de Deux collection. Since I have an exclusive deal with Amazon on those short stories, they will stay under the Amazon name. This move will give me more freedom and a safety net for my brand going forward. With a possibility of a few more up and coming authors joining the house, we will be branching into other kinds of storytelling. But more on that later. We are still working on newsletters. We should have that up and running sometime this month. Until next time ;) www.yuumeiart.com
Hello fellow readers, just bringing an update on some things. Have some good news and some bad news. First the bad. The third story in the Pas de Deux collection will unfortunately will be delayed until further notice. National Novel Writing Month, has been kicking my ass all month!! So I have not had the time to polish the stories and get them up and running in time. :( Now the good news. During this strenuous time, I have been pecking away at my first novel; "The Night Comes for us" (Desolation Row series). The goal is to have the first book finished by end of year, then released first quarter of 2021. With collaboration by the insanely talented artist Yuumei; she will be bringing some truly amazing art work to the series that will take it to the next level. More on that series later. It's time for me to get back to writing. ;) Until next time. Happy Holidays www.yuumeiart.com
It has already been one week since the release of the first two short stories from the Pas de Duex collection. I just want to thank everyone for their love and support and positive feed back! It really means a lot to me. You have no idea. So I have some good news. 'Run cried the crawling' reached number 5 on the Amazon best selling fantasy books. It only lasted a day, but hey I was happy to beat 'The Witcher' (bad ass). 'Tomorrow never came', landed 21 on the romance chart. All good numbers!! I couldn't of done it without your help. But we are only getting started. Next month we have our horror story coming up next. More about that on the next blog. Stay safe out there!!
We are one day away from the release of my very first book!! I'm sorry I haven't blog in awhile I've been trying to get everything ready. The first two of seven short stories will go live tomorrow. Lust and Greed are up to bat first. One a VERY dark fantasy story, while the other an intense love story. This has been a long time coming and I am both excited and nervous for all of this. This has been my dream since I was a kid and it's finally happening!! Books will go live tomorrow I will post links as soon as they are up. These will be ebooks only for now, a print version with all seven stories collected will be available early 2021. I just want to thank everyone for the love and support!!
“At all times, people are doing one of two things. They’re showing love. Or they’re crying out for it.”
We are now in the second story of the "Pas De Deux" Collection. The sin "lust" takes center stage in the antebellum south as we meet the southern bell Rose; who unfortunately is discovered to be having an affair.
Unlike the other stories in the collection, this story is actually written in first person. This is because it is based off a real person (name changed of course). Rose is a funny, sassy and misunderstood woman who loves her wine. I knew someone like that and felt comfortable enough to be able to be in her head and know how she would feel, what she would say. Its a story of jealously. A story of lust. A story of regret. A story of love that will last a lifetime.
The first story from the Pas De Deux collection is "Run Cried the Crawling”. Like the rest of the stories, this one will have the sin 'greed' as the focus. A dark fantasy which follows a renowned knight by the name of Sabra and her squire Bearnard. After the two of them obtained an ancient relic, they soon realize that they are being followed. Death is what approaches...
Unfortunately that is all I can say about this short story! I picked this story to be first because I wanted to hit the ground running. Literally. The lines, “The armored knight chased after the falling sun, but the night was faster.” Is what got the ball rolling. It’s a fairly small cast of characters. Pretty much the knight and her squire but it developed into a truly epic story.
My favorite stories are ones that are said to be impossible to adapt. Game of thrones. The lord of the rings. It. The stand. Of course all of those eventually did get made. I like the challenge. I want someone to scratch there head and try to figure out how are they going to pull this off.
But a word of warning. This is some serious dark shit!! I look back at this story and try to figure out wtf is wrong with me! It does leave a sour taste in my mouth but this is the way the pen wanted to go. There was no other way. Preorders will hopefully be up soon, so look forward to this and one more at the end of October!
Until next time
Hello, hello...testing one, two. Sorry it took so long to make my first blog but I really don't know what I'm doing on this thing. So please bear with me. lol Okay so first things first, I will give you what the gaming community likes to call a "Road map". This will give you info on what is coming out and when. First one oin the map is "Pas De Deux". Originally I had this has one anthology book but the fact each story is of different genre has made things difficult promoting in the book world. So I came up with an idea. Release each one individually. Some people like horror, some like romance. This way they don't have to get an entire book of stories they won't even read and not make it feel like a waste. They can now pick and choose. Amazon has a great program called, "Amazon short reads." They are a great home for short stories such as these. So the plan is to release one of the seven stories a month at a time. Unfortunately these will be only digital ebooks only since the books are too small for print. Good news for you anti digital readers; after all seven stories have been released I plan to release an actual print version with the entire collection in one book.
So I wanted to hit the ground running (literately) with my stories but I also don't want to scare people away so I will be releasing two of the short stories in October. The first one is an intense dark fantasy that defiantly isn't for the faint of heart. Next will be a romance/drama period piece for all you love birds.
I can't wait to talk more about these stories in the upcoming days. Until then, be safe everyone.
